The Most Important System for Your Business: A Marketing System—An Interview with John Jantsch

RainToday.com's Podcast: Marketing & Selling Professional Services

When it comes to marketing, most service professionals shy away from it unclear how to create a strategy. But without a clear marketing strategy, you limit how much your business can grow. Flitting from one marketing tactic to the next, or copying what other firms in your industry do, simply won't work. You need your own marketing strategy that creates "know, like, and trust" and then becomes "try, buy, repeat, and refer."

There are plenty of businesses that outwardly are fairly successful. They're growing somewhat, but they always hit a plateau. They know how to do their job and sell their services, but there's no clear momentum builder. A strong marketing strategy can create that for you, says marketing consultant John Jantsch.

"If you can really capture a way that your firm is clearly different and actually in a way that people value you, then first price goes out of the—or at least goes down the list—in considerations," Jantsch says. "But also, when the buzz becomes, 'You need to hire so and so because they are the best at x or you will get the experience of a life time,' all of the sudden marketing momentum really happens because people start coming to you and wanting to buy from you as sort of the supplier, or the vendor or the service of choice."

Listen as Jantsch previews his upcoming webinar and also discusses:

  • Why it's hard for businesses to develop marketing strategies
  • Mistakes companies make when it comes to marketing
  • What a simple marketing system looks like
  • Growth opportunities businesses can achieve if they have a marketing system
