Jill, I'd also like to remind people that, although someone may not be in a decision-making position now, they may be in the future. As the person who used to get ignored and walked over by dozens of sales people on their way to my boss, I remember how they treated me now that I am the decision-maker and lo and behold it is very difficult for them to get my attention let alone any work.
