My Thoughts

This is a great article. The idea of simply 'being of service' to others as a business model is wonderful  and especially relavent in today's world  where the concept of sincere and true service seems to have gone totally out the window.

My Thoughts

Amen . . .amen! I am in total agreement with the article. I have fought the "you have to sell" your services". I've tried for the 28+ years I've been a small business owner of a professional services firm. Over a year ago I had a "flash of brillance". I 'm not good at selling. But I'm really good at connecting and helping people/companies succeed. So I decided to find myself an executive appointment setter for a get to know you 20-30 minute meeting. Fast forward, to date I have had over 60 appointments with the C-level person in the companies I believe I can serve and have started the process of establihing a relationship. Is it a quick sell? NO! Is it for the long term relationship, YES! I read, can't remember where that at any given moment 5% of potential clients are ready to buy NOW, but 75% will be ready over time. I'm playing to the 75%, like the odds better.
