Does Email Cold Calling Work? |

| My Thoughts |
It is extremely dangerous to send an unsolicited e-mail. Spam blocking and black listing not withstanding. Why then? SPAM really, really pisses people off! So as a marketing tool, recommend going back to basics. Following up with e-mail is great. One possible exception might be to send e-mails to members of a small association you have just joined. Even that is "iffy." |

| My Thoughts |
Jill certainly knows her stuff. And the answer is...yes email cold-calling does work. It's always amazed me that most telemarketing companies act as if email hasn't been invented. They have a totally one-dimensional business model for sales prospecting. While I was reading Jill's article, one of my team just forwarded me an email from the PA of a senior executive we'd been targeting for a client. Off the back of an email (through his PA) we've arranged a great meeting for our client. Of course it works; it's actually how many senior executives prefer to do things nowadays. Keep up the great articles, RainToday! |
