Article The Trouble With Elevator Speeches
Author Michael W. McLaughlin
My Thoughts

Right on Michael. Elevator speeches should be banned by law in every town, city and state. They're horrible because they make people focus on themselves rather than on their clients (or potential client). Nothing is more phony and useless than a typical elevator speech. This article should be required reading for everyone who sells anything to anyone. Just say NO to elevator speeches.

My Thoughts

I must agree with most of what was written in this article. We've come a long way since it's inception in 1992 & I think if you're in sales of ANY kind, you need a 30 second intro to who you are, what you do & if applicable, how you may be able to help the prospective client if given an opportunity (not right this second) but at a mutually convenient time. You never know who your're standing next to. They could make your day or even your year.
