No matter how many projects you have worked on or how much of an expert project manager you are, it is a good idea to occasionally revisit some of the basics. Nothing could be more basic than defining a term, but, alas, I have seen many consulting engagements go awry because someone failed to remember a simple concept about what a project is.
This article will address the definition of a project as well as develop some ancillary concepts in the belief that it will increase your project management success.
If you think you know the basics of project management inside and out, remember what Socrates said, "The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing."
