A wise sales manager once said, "I don't measure results, I measure activity. My star salespeople will deliver results no matter what I do. But I want my average salespeople to get better results. If I measure their activity—how often do they practice their presentations; how many books do they read on sales to develop their skills; how many times a day do they get out and make the calls?—if they do the activity, they will get the results."
