Goals are meant to inspire you—to get you to think creatively and grow. Too often, however, we set incremental goals that feel more like a burden. We'd like to earn 10% more. We'd like to increase our close rates by 5%. We want to generate 15% more leads. They're added to a never-ending cycle of having to do more.
Rather than add to the drudgery, create large goals—goals that seem unreachable but spark creativity. For when we set unreachable goals that require us to stretch beyond what we think we're capable of achieving, we're forced to consider new options. And just one new option can take you and your firm farther than a handful of small boring tasks that no one is compelled to complete.
