Mike Schultz, Founder and Publisher
Since getting his start in professional services and in publishing in the early 1990s, Mike has been a management consultant, a leader of multi-million dollar highly-profitable division of a major professional services firm, an entrepreneur, and a rainmaker.
As Publisher of RainToday.com and a Principal with the Wellesley Hills Group, Mike is a frequent speaker and consultant to service firms worldwide on topics such as service firm branding, marketing, lead generation, e-marketing, and rainmaking. Mike's current and previous clients include firms such as Ryder System, Bank of America, John Hancock Financial Services, American Management Association, Pegasystems, Instron, Fidelity Investments, and a host of other major and emerging growth service firms.
Mike holds an MBA in Entrepreneurship from the F.W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College, and a BA from Brandeis University. He is also an avid fly fisherman and golfer, and actively studies and teaches Kokondo Karate and Jukido Jujitsu, holding the ranks of black belt and Sensei in each.
Erica Stritch, General Manager
As a marketing and management consultant, Erica has worked with a variety of service firms to strengthen their marketplace messages and competitive positioning. Her experience includes planning, creating, and implementing branding, direct marketing, and lead generation programs. Quoted in publications such as MarketingProfs and Entrepreneur Magazine, her areas of expertise focus on direct and interactive marketing including; website development and usability, search engine optimization and marketing, email marketing, public relations, direct mail, copywriting, and event planning.
As General Manager of RainToday, Erica oversees the day-to-day operations of this site and is responsible for the overall strategy and vision.
Erica holds a BA in Business Administration from Boston University School of Management and is an avid skier and martial artist. She also enjoys watching the Red Sox win (and doesn't like it very much when they lose).
Mary Flaherty, Manager, Research and Content Development
At RainToday.com, Mary leads site content development including research, case studies, how-to tools, interviews, and other premium site content. Mary’s career spans more than 20 years in higher education publishing and research, as well as professional services marketing.
Prior to joining RainToday.com, she directed publishing and global distribution as associate director of Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government Case Program, the world’s largest publisher of case studies on public policy and management. Previously, she was a research associate at Harvard Business School and assistant director for new program development at Harvard University, where she coordinated the Conference on the Internet and Society.
She has extensive experience in marketing management in both the for-profit and nonprofit sectors — she served as director of marketing for organizations including Bentley College’s School of Continuing Professional Studies, Law Firm of Wynn & Wynn, P.C., and Metro South Chamber of Commerce. Mary has taught undergraduate marketing courses as an adjunct instructor and holds an MBA from Bentley College. In her free time, she enjoys trying to keep up with her son on the ski slopes and hiking trails of New England.
Aaron Joslow, Editor
Aaron’s background brings together writing, editing, marketing, and entrepreneurship in a variety of settings. Upon graduation from college, he co-founded and managed a history-tour company in Key West, where he oversaw the company’s day-to-day operations and gained experience in lead generation, marketing research and strategy, and sales. In addition, as a publishing team member at Quirk Books, Inc., executive editor for a university newspaper, and in other roles, he has honed his editorial, marketing, and communication skills as a writer, editor, teacher, and tutor. At RainToday, Aaron manages the selection of articles for the weekly newsletter Rainmaker Report, marketing/advertising projects, and customer service for the site.
Aaron holds a BA in English and a concentration in Journalism/Creative Writing from Clark University. He has enjoyed exciting adventures such as studying aboard a sailing school vessel from Key West to Nova Scotia, and apprenticing at a ranch and wilderness outfitter in Wyoming.
